The French Lieutenant's Woman
This book is very hard to describe, so you should probably just read it to find out why I gave it five stars. However, I can say that the joy of this book isn't in the plot or the characters, but in the deliciously saucy narrator, who is a kind of meta-character himself. Didn't expect to enjoy this book very much, so it was a nice surprise.
