I don't know. I feel like what this book is telling me is that Jonathan Safran Foer is a good writer, and he knows it. I was absolutely in love with the parts told/written by Alex/Sasha, but every time I came to a chapter written by Jonathan, I just wanted to skip it so hard, like into a lake or a deep, water-filled quarry.
If this book was told only in the (seriously brilliant and also mangled) point of view of Alex, I would have given it 5,000 stars.
