The second and third stars are for Amy the Gorilla, and all the other stuff about Gorillas, which were the best parts of the book by far. The rest of it was overly dependent on computer talk (which is hilariously outdated thirty years later) and a rather aimless goal that never really satisfies any of the major plot points. Worth reading once, if you're a Crichton buff, but otherwise feel free to skip.
