This collection took me forever to get through, but not because it wasn't good, just because it's an anthology. I always have trouble retaining interest in short-story collections because there's no narrative through-line. There's no reason for me to keep turning the pages. Ironically, the theme of this collection is "And then what happened?" The book is sort of an ode to the imagination. Several of the stories were wonderful, most were good, and thankfully none were really bad. My favorite stories in the collection belonged to Neil Gaiman, Roddy Doyle, Joyce Carol Oates, Kurt Anderson, and Elizabeth Hand.
Recommended especially if you like short stories, or if you like any of the authors in the book.
