I was unimpressed with Bill Willingham after his run in Angel, but after the third page of Fables, I knew I loved it. The story is smart and intricate, and clear from the get go. The conceit of fairy tale characters living in modern times is just fun, and the art is absolutely gorgeous. Also, the wolf is pretty sexy, which is a weird reaction, I think, but I'm just trying to be honest. Can't wait to pick up #2.
