I love Kathy Griffin. That was a disclaimer, FYI. If you don't like Kathy Griffin, you won't like this book, so don't even try. The thing about this book is that it IS Kathy Griffin. Her words, her stories, and a tasteful yet juicy amount of celebrity gossip. The thing about this book as a book, however, is that throughout the entire thing it is conscious of being a book, of its 'book-ness.' From a technical stand-point, a vast majority of it was over-written and a little amateurish, but honestly, if you bought this book and expected it to be well-written, then you're an idiot. The best part about this book is KG's voice, crass over-written donut sex-jokes and all, and when she's telling you a story that really means something to her (stories about her family, or David Strickland) it is really engaging no matter how well it's written. (Insights into the idiocy and shallowness of show-business were also much appreciated.)I couldn't put the fool thing down.
