First thing's first: I'm not really in a position to properly judge this book. I got the audiobook from the library and I listened to it in a week. I should have known that something was up when it was only eight hours long. (Orson Scott Card is a very wordy man.) Almost half the book, the "unnecessary" stuff, was cut out. I kept being confused while listening, like who is this character? What are they talking about? Why am I not enjoying this as much as I should. Oh, wait, BECAUSE IT'S ABRIDGED. FUCK.
So, now I have to read it again. But until then I'm giving it four stars because I love OSC and I love fairy tales and even though I know the ending, I think once I have the context, I'm gonna love it.
ABRIDGED AUDIOBOOKS ARE THE DEVIL'S WORK.
